Other Important Info:

An Oregon ATV permit is required to utilize the Tillamook State Forest and therefore will be required at this event. You can purchase one online by clicking the link below, or you can purchase one at most gas stations in Oregon.

Piston’s Wild strongly recommends having the following safety items on board your vehicle during the event.

• Fire Extinguisher
• Shovel
• First Aid Kit
• Water
• Gloves

A Basic Overview:

As you may have noticed, Piston’s Wild is celebrating 10 years of hosting this family friendly, adventure seeking event. Always hosted in the Tillamook State Forest, we start and end the day at the Browns Camp OHV staging area where many like minded off-road enthusiasts line up for a day of conquering trails, reaching checkpoints, making memories, and then heading back to Browns Camp for a fun evening of raffle drawings and a meal provided courtesy of Piston’s Wild for all participants.

How the day goes:

The course we plan is typically a 4-5 hour adventure, where you will navigate your way through the forest, following posted trail markers and along the way you will hit checkpoints staffed by Piston’s Wild Members. Checkpoints provide unique challenges that will allow participants earn points on their score card as well as collect a token as proof they made it there. This is not a timed race, but a challenge of following trail markers throughout the forest, reaching checkpoints to earn points by way of various challenges, and then making your way back to registration where all totals will be tallied, trophies presented, and then of course the fan favorite raffle drawing. Oh, and of course food! There always has to be food. There is fun for all ages as this is a family friendly tailored event. It’s always encouraged for newcomers, and seasoned veterans alike to bring some sort of map to make sure you’re able to navigate back to camp should you get off the marked paths.

Registration info:

The morning off the event you will arrive at registration at Browns Camp Staging Area where you will fill out necessary paperwork, and receive your registration bag with instructions, score sheets, and any pre-ordered merchandise. Please note that while we will have some clothing available the morning of the event, it will be in limited supply. We recommend pre-ordering to ensure you receive the merchandise you desire. All proceeds from this event go back to supporting Piston’s Wilds efforts in trail maintenance and development in the Yacolt Burn State Forest, Tillamook State Forest, and Gifford Pinchot National Forest. So join us for a great time by making some memories, having loads of fun, and helping to support our ever expanding efforts to protect the sport of motorized recreation.
